WEIRD ANIMATION PROBLEM

I've been using PowerPoint for AT LEAST 15 YEARS!   My current version is PowerPoint 2011 for Mac OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6 and the doc is saved as .pptx.  I've got a very strange problem that it started doing.  It's like it has automated itself on 2 slides. So I removed all animations and it still does it's own thing.  Specifically, the first slide wasn't working right either, so I removed every animation.  But when I'm in slide show view, it advances automatically to the next slide without clicking. (I have No Transitions on this slide or any others.)  When it gets to the 2nd slide all the animations automatically trigger themselves within about a half second. They are supposed to work first with a click, then "after". The another Click, etc. They happen all at once, as soon as the previous slide automatically moves to this slide.

I have tried rebuilding these two slides from scratch and it still does the same thing!  They are graphic intensive so it's a pain to keep re-designing them, only for them to keep doing the same thing!

In the Transitions Tab do you have the 'On Mouse Click' check box checked? If not on click animation will not work as expected.

That doesn't seem to describe my problem. I also have the slide series shared with my laptop on Office 365 and it duplicates the problem. Just to clarify, I have 2 problem slides.

1.) I removed all the animation on the first slide, yet it continues to automatically advance to the next slide after it appears on the screen for about 1 second.

2.) The second slide does not allow ME to click on it to animate, it simply advances to the end of the slide animation.  Again, this is after the slide appears on the screen for about one second.

    Thanks for your help!
