Setup Shared Mailbox using Windows 10 Mail App

Hi,

I am trying to add an Office 365 shared mailbox to the Windows 10 Mail App. When I setup the account in the app I enter the shared mailbox email address as requested. I then enter my O365 username and password to sign in. Unfortunately the mail then sets up an account that connects to my O365 mailbox not the shared mailbox.

Can anyone help me to setup a Shared Mailbox in the Windows 10 Mail App.

The steps I have be using inthe Mail App are:

  1. Add account in mail app by selecting 'Exchange O365' account type and entering shared mailbox email address.
  2. Mail app requests account password
  3. Click on the link, 'sign in with another account'
  4. Enter O365 username and password (username being my O365 email address not the shared mailbox email address)
  5. Mail App sets up account for my O365 mailbox, not the shared mailbox!

    Hi Hobbsy1618,

However, we recommend for Office 365 best experience use Office 2016.  You can access the shared mailbox by using Outlook 2016: For your reference: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Open-and-use-a-shared-mailbox-in-Outlook-2016-and-Outlook-2013-d94a8e9e-21f1-4240-808b-de9c9c088afd

Moreover, you may contact our dedicated Apps on Windows 10 support to see whether they can provide any alternative solution or workaround. Your time and understanding will be highly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Shyamal
