Thanks for getting back to us.
When the cells are copied from another workbook to the shared workbook, the styles are copied as well. These styles then continue to make the file grow. If that's the case, please try to remove these types.
To check if this is related to the settings of your Excel, please follow the steps below to start Excel in safe mode to see if there are any improvements.
- Find the shortcut icon for Excel 2016.
- Press and hold the CTRL key and double-click the application shortcut.
- Click Yes when a window appears asking if you want to start Excel in Safe Mode.
- Open the shared workbook, make some changes and save it again.
Meanwhile, if this is only happening to this shared workbook, I suggest you create a copy of the file with the same content as the original. Replace the shared workbook with the duplicate and try saving changes again.
