Underline Subscript is uneven?

Hey

Having issues when underlining a subscript. Attached is a picture. 

How do I make the underline an even straight line?

It's really doing what it is supposed to. Typically, You don't  underline any superscripted or subscripted items.

What the image indicates is a bit different from what you're describing :-) The Underline attribute is predicated on the baseline of the text to which you apply it. The baseline of sub/superscript text is not the same as that of normal text, so their respective baselines cannot be the same.

What you apparently would prefer can be done but requires software with decent advanced typesetting capabilities, such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress.
