Collapse Quick Launch Menu

I have converted all of my Sharepoint list and Sharepoint pages to the new experience. The newly converted pages have a collapsed Quick Launch Menu. The newly converted list do not and show the under lying menu items.

Is there any way to always have the Quick Launch Menu in collapsed mode with none of the underlying list items showing?

Hi Jay,

I have checked the behavior you said in both the modern page and the modern list, and indeed it is. If you have concern about this behavior, the best way to influence the product is to share your insights and concerns in User voice.

We appreciated your understanding.

Sky, New experience pages open with all arrows in the collapsed position within the quick launch menu. Whenever an arrow is clicked, only the underlying items under that arrow opens. This is very neat looking and efficient.

Compare that to a list. When a list opens, all items under every arrow opens (even if it is a new experience list on a new experience page). Since all sections are open, we have to go searching through the entire menu for a particular underlying item. This is inefficient and messy looking.

I can't understand why a page's quick launch menu is always collapsed and opens only what is needed and a list's quick launch menu is always expanded and it take a several clicks to close to get them all collapsed.

It would seem to me that if a page can do it, a list ought to be able to do it as well. Can you tell me why not?

    Hi Jay,

It is not feasible to do that. If you don't like the underlying items of the list, you can collapse it by clicking the arrow manually like below.

Meanwhile, I'd like to invite you to share your ideas through user voice. Your providing feedback will make our products better for you and others.

    Your understanding is highly appreciated.
