Sync SharePoint Online List with SQL Server (on-prem) table

Hi,

I've been looking into creating a list in SharePoint Online, and have the list sync directly with a sql server table on our network.

I've been trying to make this work, but can't get it done. I did some reading and from what i'm seeing, i guess it's b/c you can't directly link to a sql server on-prem from SharePoint Online? Is that correct? So, is the right approach to create a Azure SQL database and lync to a table there?

Thanks,

Vince

    Hi Vince,

Yes , you are right. You need to use the Azure SQL database and Business Connectivity Services (BCS) to achieve your requirement.

However, since our forum focuses on Office 365 for Business service, if you need further assistance on the configuration in Azure, I would suggest you post the question in the Azure forum.
