MS Project 2016 timeline issues

When trying to copy a Ms Project 2016 timeline to Powerpoint I can only paste it as an image which is useless to me. I can paste the same timeline to Excel as an 'editable' object though (change colors, positions, text, font etc.). Then I can copy/paste this same timeline from Excel, as an 'editable' object, to Powerpoint. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Even worse, the timing of the task bars in the pasted timeline have changed. Where I have a task starting on November 1st in the MS Project timeline, it seems to start already in te last week of October in the pasted timeline.

Were the timeline could be a very efficient link between detail plans and high level managment information these two issues make it quite useless.

Is it me or is it Ms Project?

I am now at version 1702 (Build 7870.2031) and it seems the issue where the date labels move, when copy/pasting, has been solved. Indeed copy/pasting into Word/Excel first can be used as a work around.

Best regards,

Peter

    Hi Pke60,

    Thanks for your update.

Please install the latest update of Project via the article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3141514/february-7-2017-update-for-project-2016-kb3141514 . Then check if the PowerPoint is the latest version.

If the issue persists, could you share with us a video about detailed reproduce steps? To protect your privacy, I have sent you a private message to collect the information. You could check and respond to it via https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/privatemessages/list

    Regards,

Thanks Julie. I am using Microsoft Project 2016 MSO (16.0.7668.7101) 64-bit. Seems newer than your version. Tried 32-bit version too. Same result.

Have this on two different systems. Win 7 and 8.1. Same problems. See below what I get when pasting into Powerpoint as non-graph.

I am not seeing what you report using Project 2016 16.0.6965.2117.  When I copy for a Presentation and paste into PowerPoint 2016, each object is editable.

Is your version of Project up to date?  see: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/projectsupport/project-2016-public-updates/
