One Note - Changing Location Paths

Hi

I am new to using One Note 2010 and may or may not have lost a lot of information on a shared notebook!! help!

I deleted the file which the notebook was linked to (-  not knowing One Note worked this way). The info on One Note was still there, however there was an error message when trying to sync the notebook

I then created a new file and changed the path location (in notebook properties) to this new file. Once it synced, all the info from the notebook disappeared.

I am getting our IT team to recover the the file I had deleted. If I can recover this and change the note book location path back to this original file, will I get all my saved info on the notebook back??

Any ideas/help or suggestions please??!

You seem to talk about a local notebook, a notebook which is stored on your computer. Then this notebook is a folder in the Windows file system, filled with .one files, the so called sections.

If this is correct and you can recover this folder, including its content, then the correct method is:

    1. close the notebook in Onenote
    2. re-open the recovered notebook
