MS Project 2016 display bars

Hi,

I have just installed Project Standard 2016. From when I installed it, the gantt chart does not seem to display properly. The bars are tiny. So are the milestone symbols. I changed the bar height by right click - layout/bar height but the displayed bar height doesn't change. Adjusting the zoom slider doesn't help either.

Is this how Project 2016 appears on your screen? I've been using Project for a long time, a lot of different versions and this doesn't seem right. On the second line there is a milestone. It appears with the date next to it but you can hardly make out the milestone marker.

Any ideas?
