Instead of using File > Save, use File > Save a Copy As

This will default to a text file which can have the same name.

    Radney,

I have the same issue with Word 15.27 to which I just upgraded. None of my documents can be "saved as"! Nor will the entire list of Review features work. When I click on the "Review" tab, the bar remains gray. I teach online and have deadlines to meet. I am desperate!

    Hi,

For us to isolate the problem, we need the following information:

    • What is the "Save as type" you are trying to use when saving the file?
    • Which version of Microsoft Word are you using?

    Regards.
