Hello all! Happy Holidays!

I am spinning up Office 365 group in prep for the merge of groups and team sites. I am trying to add an app to an Office 365 nd it just keeps getting redirected back to the doc library. I can see site pages and home.aspx so I know the SharePoint infrastructure is their, I can even navigate to the home page. Any ideas?

Thank you

Doug

    Hi Sheen,

thank you for continuing to trouble shoot, I have done this and the "site" button NEVER appears. Here is a screen, all of our newly creating groups and existing groups are the same, NO site link

    Hi Douglas,

After checking your tenant from the backend, it seems you are experiencing an independent problem, so we will be continuing our troubleshooting.

Please try the following suggestions and see if the issue persists:

    1. Add an application on a classic team site (old site collections that does not have a group associated with it) and see you are also redirected.
    2. Use another administrator's account to access the problematic sites and create the app and see if the issue persists.
    3. Create a new Office 365 Group > Go to the Mail app and access the newly created group from the Groups section on the left navigation bar.

    1. Access the group site by clicking on the Site button on the top navigation bar.

    1. Add an app to the site.

If you can successfully access and add an app in the new group's team site, please try to access the problematic sites using the steps above (via Mail > Groups) and see if the issue persists.

    Regards,

    Sheen

    Hello Sheen!

    Ok part 1:

Started a private browsing session went to several different groups, clicked gear -> site contents and got redirected to Document Library.

Part 2: (still in private browsing session)

Tried to Navigate to home page of team site ex:  (https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/groupname). and was redirected to document library

If I manually type in  (https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/groupname/sitepages/home.aspx). I can then get to the home page, click gear -> site contents OR add an app, auto redirected to Document Library

    Hi Doug,

Please try the following suggestions and keep us updated on the results:

    1. Use a private browsing session on your browser and add the app.
    2. Try adding an app to another Office 365 Groups team site and see if it exhibits the same behavior.
    3. On the top right corner of the page, click on the Gear icon > Site Contents, under Contents, check whether your application was created.

Please also tell us at which point of the action were you redirected to the document library:

    1. Navigate to the home page of the team site (https://contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/groupname).

.2. On the top right corner of the page, click on the Gear icon > Add an app.

    1. Selected the app you wish to add, i.e.: Document Library.
    2. Entered the name of the app.
    3. Clicked Create.

    Regards,

    Sheen
