Excel web queries with client certificates

I want to use Excel to read a HTML-table from a website. The site is hosted on my own nginx web server. Excel reads the table smoothly even with https enabled. I use the "Web API"-mode with the necessary API Key. But I run into trouble every time I try to make client certificates mandatory for accessing the website: Excel reports a "DataSource.Error" with http status code 400.

Of course I installed my (self signed) certificate into Firefox and the user certificate storage of Windows 10. I can access the website using Firefox as well as Edge - but not with Excels web query. Does Excel use a seperate certificate storage? Is there any way to use a client certificate for web queries?

Thank you - any help is very much appreciated.

Well  - that's just another site which doesn't mention client certificates. Just listing all of those really won't help...

    Hi,

thank you for your reply! Unfortunately that document doesn't cover certificates. Getting the data from the website to my Excel sheet generally works like a charm for me, unless the website demands a client certificate. Do you have more specific information on that topic?
