Picture Content Control

I previously set up a template using Microsoft Office 2010 using form fields.  We have now upgraded to Office 2016.  I have Picture Content Controls created in this template that worked fine in Office 2010.  Now that we have upgraded, the Picture Content Controls DO NOT populate when you insert the picture.

I have started a completely blank word document and tried a brand new picture content control w/the exact same outcome.  Is this a glitch in Office 2016?  I don't see it being a compatibility issue because a brand new blank document does the exact same thing.

Hi everyone,

I’m told that this issue is now fixed in the latest Office 2016 update, which we recently released.

The current version is 16.0.6965.2063. To find out more, go to our release notes page, and under Channel, click Current

To get the update immediately, open any Office 2016 app and click File > Account > Update Options >Update Now.

Best,

-Erik

Thanks Greg, that is what I am thinking happened!  Now how do we let Microsoft know to FIX THIS ISSUE!!  We have inspections that we have to complete using this template, which is currently useless!  We no longer have Word 2013 so copying it over is not an option.

    Thanks for your help!

    Lindsey,

It looks like they have broken the picture contentcontrol with one of their seemingly endless updates.

I can repeat your steps with the same results.

I was able to insert a picture CC using Word 2013 and copy that from Word 2013 and paste into a Word 2016 document and it worked fine.

    1. Open new document
    2. Developer Tab
    3. Controls
    4. Picture Content Control

    1. Click on picture content control
    2. Select file location for photo
    3. Select photo
    4. Comes back and looks just like this

    Hi Lindsey,

What happens when you insert picture content control in new document in Word 2016? Mention the steps you took to insert the content control.

Content control works and it is editable in Word 2016. You can also add and edit content controls in a template as mentioned in the article below.

I look forward to your reply to assist you further.

    Thank you.
