Limit Access to Apps

I'm planning on phasing my users into office 365 starting with SharePoint. I would like to to limit the apps they see in the app launcher until I'm ready for them to use them.

Is there anyway to do this?

Thanks

Hi Sean,

To achieve the goal like below, the only way is to just assign the SharePoint Online license and change some settings in SharePoint admin center.

Note:for the following method, user can’t use other services except SharePoint Online.

Here are the steps:

  1. Assign users with only SharePoint Online licenses.
  2. Go to SharePoint admin center -> settings

To hide OneDrive for Business, click hide on the following screenshot.

To disable delve, click don’t allow access to the Office graph next to Office graph.

To disable newsfeed and yammer, click use Yammer.com service. (as you don’t assign yammer license in step1, these two app tiles will disappear after 30 minites.)

To disable video, click Disable streaming video through Azure Media Services and disable the Video Portal next to streaming video service.

Thanks for your understanding.

Thank you, I think the part I was missing was the assigning of licenses.

    Hi Sean,

SharePoint administrator can hide the SharePoint tile from app launcher via the following steps:

Log in to SharePoint admin center -> settings-> click hide next to sites. Here is a screenshot for your reference. Note: it may take several minutes for this setting to take effect.

    Thanks,
