Hi

I have a public folder and sheared many files with NTFS permissions in server 2012 R2. In some users when i try to access some of the shared files in the public folder the following error message has come up.Also if i copy those files into local HDD it works fine. I checked permission with working client both user permissions were same.

Error Message

"Microsoft excel cannot open or save any more documents because there is not enough available memory or disk space"

I have tried with many guidance which you have suggested to solve the issue in previous questions but non of them had worked.

Please kindly guide me how to get rid of this issue.

    Hello Ashan,

    Thank you for the reply.

Try following steps and check if it helps.

    1. Open Excel and go to File > Options > Trust Center Settings Center Settings… > Protected View.
    2. In Protected View, uncheck all three items.
    3. Then choose OK > OK.

This forum addresses issue related to consumer users. If issue persist, I would recommend you to follow up with the query which you have posted in TechNet forum.

I have run into this issue before in a work environment.  I was able to resolve my issue by moving items that were on my desktop to a different location.  Not sure if this will work or you...but it may be helpful to look at the memory specifications.  I believe the only limit is due to hardware limitations
