Keeping Version Control when moving documents in SharePoint

I have many files (mpp) that are loaded with versions, these files need to be moved to another area within sharepoint. When I move/copy the files they loose the version information (ex: File CA 1 = Version 22, moved to another area File CA 1 = Version 1) we need for the version to remain 22 not revert to version 1 in the new area.

Hi Wallace,

How do you copy/move the mpp file? Could you give us some detailed steps? For the symptom of the issue you have met with, could you give us some screenshots?

Generally, if you activated the SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure and use the Content and structure feature, you can move or copy the file with the same version.

    Hi Wallace,

It seems that the screenshots haven’t been uploaded successfully? Could you upload them again?

Moreover, about “Copy is not an active option only delete can be selected.”, could you provide us with more detailed information about the steps on how you copied the files and screenshots for our clarification?

    Thanks,

    Cliff
