Excel worksheet data changing unintentionally

I have 5 worksheets in a workbook. They are  pretty simple. I entered  Shift+PF2 OR Cntrl+PF2 , (I don't recall). in the first row of the 3rd worksheet. Now when I hover the mouse on the cell I keep getting a small rectangular box with my Name in it followed by colon (:). When I inserted a row in the 3rd worksheet,  I noticed that a blank row got inserted in the other worksheets. So I went in and deleted the extra row from the other worksheets. Then I returned to the 3rd worksheet ( which I was working on ) and deleted the top row. Unfortunately, it deleted the top rows from other 2 worksheets..

Then I noticed that , as I moved from one wksht to another, the title bar, which shows the name of the wksht had the word (Group) added to it. I right-clicked on the name of the wksht name at the bottom of the screen, and found the option called Ungroup, I clicked on that. It seemed to correct the situation, but I am not certain, as, I keep seeing (Group) on a couple of wksht.

I will be appreciated if anyone explain what is doing that AND/OR have a solution or that?

[Group] means you have more than one worksheet selected.

Take note of which sheets are highligted in white.  These are the grouped ones.

You may have to deal with unintended changes to these sheets.

While sheets are grouped, whatever you do to one sheet will be done to all,

which can lead to disastrous results if they have been grouped for a while.

To ungroup, right-click on a tab and "ungroup"

Thanks for your response. I did Ungroup the worksheets, and corrected the problem.
