Excel- Data Link/ Add In Issue

Recently updated to Office 365 for Windows. Issues have been consistent since upgrade.

Add-in/ Data link with program PC Miler no longer functions properly. Error when opening Excel " We cannot update some of the links in your workbook right now"

I have tried: Edit links: Updating Values, updating source. When you check status it will come up as "Source is open" but will not stay that way. I have also done Quick Repair in Programs and Features of Control Panel. That offers a temporary (1-3 hour) fix, but then the issue resurfaces. I have also gone through and uninstalled older versions of programs that did not uninstall properly with upgrade.

Issue has also caused file to enter into [Repaired] mode (one time), also has caused files not save or print properly.

This is a extensive file that cannot be rebuilt without 60+ hours of time (time I do not have).

HELP PLEASE!!!!

    Hi SMITHA4,

    Thanks for clarifying.

Could you check if the external data links contain any three-dimensional reference in a defined name? Could you check whether the issue described in this article applies to your situation?

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2755120

If it applies or you are not sure about it, we suggest you try the workaround in the article.

Feel free to let us know the result.

    Thanks,

    Eric Yang

The issue is mainly with the data link,

Data Tab, Connections group, "Edit Links" - I have broken the link, re-applied it, tried the update values and changing source, all with no success.

I did try opening in Safe Mode and had the same issue. Also tried disabling the Add-In with no success.

    Hi SMITHA4,

Are you experiencing an issue with an add-in for Excel from PC Miler? Could you try the following methods to troubleshoot the issue?

    1. Try opening Excel in safe mode and see if the issue will disappear.
    2. Temporarily disable the add-in and check if the issue will disappear.
    3. Check if there are any updates for the add-in.

    Thanks,

    Eric Yang
