My document format changes when printing

I created a document in Word online and when I tried to print it, the format changed ie. the lines moved and so on.  How can I prevent this?

Printing from Word Online may seem a little confusing. That’s because it first creates a PDF to preserve the layout and formatting, and then you print the PDF. For the details, please refer to

Microsoft Word Starter 2010 is a simplified version of Word that comes pre-loaded on your computer. Word Starter includes features that are basic to creating and working with documents, but it does not include the rich set of features found in the full version of Word. Hi Spike and thanks for responding.   I'll answer your questions in order:

1.  It seems like its only this one particular document that the format changes.   If I remember correctly, I think that maybe before printing I received a warning about converting the document or something to that nature.  Maybe that's the problem .
2.  When I click on Edit Documents>Edit in Word,   Word never opens.  I have Microsoft Word Starter 2010.  Maybe thats the problem too.  
3.  The format changed first in the print preview and second when printing.

Hi Pat,

To narrow down this issue, I’d like to confirm the following:

1. Does this issue occur to the specific file or all files?
2. If you click Edit Documents > Edit in Word and print the file in Word application, doe the issue persists?
3. Regarding “the format changed”, when did this error occur? Does this issue occur to the print preview or the printed document?
