Excel 2016: Cannot delete a custom format

I have a custom format for a date that I mistakenly entered, but now it is saved and it takes over the other date formats (it won't let me use other ones).  But every time I try to delete it, excel crashes.  I've repaired and reinstalled office already, and I still can't delete this one format.

Has anyone else had this issue?

And does anyone know where I can find the file that has the cell styles and just remove that style?

Hi Michael,

I understand that you are unable to delete a specific custom format of Excel.

I suggest you to start Excel in safe mode and then try deleting and check if it helps. Also, refer to the following article to delete a custom format and verify the status:

Thank you.
