"Something went wrong" - new error message

Last night I received the error seen in the attached photo when trying to open a document stored on SharePoint. I've been using SharePoint for years, so I generally know my way around and this one is new to me.

The only thing about the document that is uncommon is that it's a very large document (~5 MB, ~200pgs), with multiple users editing it throughout the day, and it contains a number of images.

Any idea what's causing this and how to fix it?

    Hi Doug_VA,

From your description, the error message appears when you try to open a document stored on SharePoint.

Could you open browser in private mode and try signing out and signing in again to check if you can open the document successfully?

If not, we’d like to confirm the information below for investigation:

    1. Can you open other documents in the same site?  What about opening a document from another site?
    2. Do other people encounter same problem when they open this document?
    3. Your tenant infromation via private message.

    Regards,

    Joanne
