I, too, have a problem in excel with finding a term that is clearly in the spreadsheet, being told that is NOT there.  Working on a Mac with latest OS.

    Hi Gyndocal1,

Based on your description, you cannot find terms via Find Function in Excel 2016 for Mac. I would like to suggest you check the following:

        1. Ensure the Office 2016 for Mac is up to date.

        2. Click Search in Workbook to check if the issue occurs.

        3. Create a new workbook and check if the issue persists.

Besides, please provide the information below:

        1. Does the issue occur to one workbook or all workbooks?

        2. The version of the Office: Excel > About Excel.

        3. The version of the operating system for your Mac.

        4. Detailed steps and related screenshots about how you use the Find Function and encounter the issue.

    Regards,

    Yoga

EXACTLY, what are you doing? What is the term you are looking for? How are you entering it in the search box? What is the cell contents of the cell where you think the term is?

The Excel spreadsheet is termed "Classical."  The term, "KORNGOLD" exists in two places as well as the search bar, but was not recognized.

Both the version of Excel and the Mac OS are the latest available.  Changing to "Search in Workbook" allowed the find function to work, but was NOT NECESSARY with another Excel spreadsheet!
