Exporting PDFs from Powerpoint (Gradient problem)

Hi all,

So I've discovered an issue last week where if I create a shape with a transparency grad (say 100% opacity to 0%) and place it over another shape (or image), and then export to PDF, the top shape acts as a fully opaque mask over whatevers below it.

My system:

Apple Mac (El Capitan Version 10.11.5)

Powerpoint version 15.24 (160709)

Acrobat Pro DC 2015.017.20050

We've discovered that other Mac users have this issue but PCs dont.

Has anybody come across this problem?

James

Yup, that's a bug. Please set up a slide showing what it's supposed to look like. Then save a PDF and import that PDF to the same slide, for a before and after effect. Then click on the small smiley-face icon in the upper-right corner of the program window, choose Tell Us What Can Be Better, describe the issue and include a screen shot. I've already submitted a report about this.

It's only through these reports that Microsoft knows there is a problem, they're not reading this forum.

It's been 4 months and this hasn't been fixed yet. This is a very annoying issue which has made me go through the trouble of opening every single PPTX document with Keynote and then export to PDF.

I'm almost ditching PowerPoint and going full Keynote if this isn't fixed.

    Many thanks John,

As frustrating as it is, its good to know I'm not the only one with this problem.

    Have done as suggested...
