Hi,
I was working on an excel spreadsheet and it stopped working so I forced a closure. Now when I try to open the file I get a dialog box saying the file has been moved or changed or deleted. When I checked the Recycle Bin it wasn't there. How can I recover my file?

It's an ongoing workbook for our business. It has been saved repeatedly with each new addition of information. Basically, it's a workbook that keeps track of our day to day business in terms of how much we made and what we spent and so on. It was in the process of saving my latest addition when it stopped working. Do you think I'll still be able to recover it with a data recovery program?
Try to open the file from inside Excel, in the open file dialog, select the file, instead of clicking Open, click the arrow beside the open button and click 'Open and Repair' - worth a try!
If there's nothing confidential and you want, you can upload it somewhere so we can take a look.
You can also try data recovery software but if the file was never saved even once then you're out of luck.
I was able to locate the file but it's like some series of numbers and is no longer an excel file. I tried opening it but had no luck. Any suggestions?
