OneNote for Mac - Misplaced Sections

I am using OneNote for Mac and I misplaced sections that I cannot get rid of.    Every time I start OneNote it says that there were notes that could be imported, and it adds a notebook called "Misplaced Sections".    I've tried deleting the notes over and over and over, and they just keep coming back and duplicating themselves.    I've tried migrating ALL of my notes to another notebook and starting fresh.  I've tried doing that both on the Mac Client, the Windows Client, and online.  I've tried deleting (multiple times) the ENTIRE notebook off my Mac and starting fresh by importing the notes.    Still, they stubbornly come back.

There are only 2 notes that it does this with.  They do NOT show up on the Windows client and they cannot be seen online.   They only show up on the Mac.

I believe, though I can't prove it, that these notes are somehow stored on the O365 server, and are somehow coming down to me, and not somehow lurking on my Mac.

NEED HELP!

    Hey,

I think for this issue as that you have tried all that has been suggested ever, you may test by creating an completely new Notebook and copying and pasting info from the Notebooks which has issues to thise new notebooks and then delete all the notebooks showing this issue from OneNote and then verify if this is going to be of any assistance to you in being able to fix this issue

    • basically you replace all the notebooks currnelty with new notebooks.
