I have question regarding setting up Skype for business online in O365.

We have an existing single tenant with several domains. Each domain is for our partner organization.

How can I enable skype communications between those domains?Any info would be appreciated.

Hi YAYAYAZF,

First, to enable the internal users of an organization communicate with external users, please refer to the following steps:

  1. Open Office 365 admin center > admin center > organization > external communications.
  2. Check “Let people use Skype for Business to communicate with Skype users outside your organization” under public IM connectivity.

From my experience, if those domains are verified in a tenant and just use Skype for Business online, the uses in those domains can communicate normally since they are one organization.

I notice you mentioned “Each domain is for our partner organization”, do you mean the Skype for Business users in those partner organization can’t communicate with each other? If yes, can you provide the detailed steps about how you let those domains separately each other in one tenant? Is there complex environment in that tenant?

Thanks,

Gary

    Hi Gary,

Thank you for your quick reply! As you mentioned below, we tested and we could communicate with skype users in the other domain! There is nothing have to do to communicate with but just those domains are verified.

    I really appreciate your help!
