Hi, can anyone help with using the navigation panel in Word 365 for students via my institution on Mac?

I want to select heading and content to copy into another document - I could do it by right clicking the heading and control C, when I was using Word 2013 in Windows,  but I can't see how to do it in Word 365 on Mac

thanks

Hi Ruth,

On Windows's Word 2013, I would like to confirm if you have first selected the Select Heading and Content option after right-clicking and before using CTRL + C as without selecting the option, CTRL + C does not copy the heading and content to the clipboard.

If so, I would like to explain that this selection is not available in Mac's Office 2016 Navigation Pane; you would have to manually select the heading as well as the contents and copy it to the clipboard. Given the situation, we suggest you submit your idea via UserVoice; this is the best way to influence our products and services to make it better for you and others.

If this isn't what you meant, please provide us with some screenshots so that we can look into it further.

Regards,

Sheen

I'm not familiar with Word 2013, but in Word for Mac you cannot copy from the Navigation Pane.

If I understand what you want to be able to do, the best suggestion I can offer is to use Outline View. You can collapse the document to show just the headings at whatever level you wish.

Command+Click a Heading, then copy it. When you paste to a new location the Heading & all of its subordinate content will be pasted.
