I have Office 365 2016 for Mac subscription version. I want to Format a Comment, not the text or size thats easy but the color, line in fact everything but the font.

So many ways to get to formatting the text but can I must have done it before since 2 comments in a sheet I use have black line outlines & the 'pointer' to the cell is in black & easy to see.

Lots of searching always just tells you how to format the text.

Thnx

There was a feature suggestion in Uservoice regarding formatting of comments. It had a lot of votes, and response from Microsoft that hinted that comment boxes in Excel were going to be replaced with something new and better.

Microsoft removed that suggestion from Uservoice along with the comments and their reply. Now there is a suggestion with just one lonely vote.

Excel - Format a comment in every way, not just text. Essential.

    Thnx for reply.

For me it means going back to older version. I need Comments for what I do & I need the ability to change color, outline etc etc. I posted on feedback page so hope that soon Comments will be upgraded.

It might be MS don't realize how much they are used since there are quite a few posting around of people wanting that function.

They are pretty pointless without formatting.
