Project Online Notifications

In Project Online, PWA, we turned notifications on. Unfortunately, every time Project Managers publish their schedules, using Microsoft Project client, everyone in the project resources gets notified, even though their assigned tasks were not changed. Is there a way to prevent this to happen. Or, is there a way to turn notifications on/off per project. The instructions posted in this articledo not change this behavior. Please help, we had to turn notifications off.

    Hi Alvaro,

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Moreover, we’d like to hear your voice at our dedicated channel, which is UserVoice. This is the best way to make our products better to you and others.

As a workaround, you may ask your end users try the suggestion provided by @Dale.

    Your understanding is highly appreciated.

    Regards

    Fraser

    Alvaro --

In my opinion, what you are seeing is an unfixed bug in Project Online.  Whenever the PM publishes a project, Project Online will send an e-mail notification to EVERY team member, even if the schedule of their tasks has not slipped.  The best way to handle this is to ask each team member to do the following:

    1. Log into PWA.
    2. Click the Settings gear button (upper right corner of the page), and then click the PWA Settings item on the menu.
    3. On the PWA Settings page, click the Manage My Alerts and Reminders link.
    4. On the Manage My Alerts and Reminders page, DESELECT the My Project Tasks are Modified checkbox near the top of the page.
    5. Click the OK button when finished.

Completing the above steps by each team member will stop the flow of "spam" e-mails from Project Online.  Hope this helps.
