problem printing graphics

If I insert a picture into a word document and send it to the printer, it is very common for the picture to print with the wrong image.

What I get instead of my picture is the same image I have after having been zoomed in and cropped.

So If my image is a portrait, I will get the top left corner of a forehead occupying the whole space assigned to the portrait.  It is magnified to fill the whole space.

It happens only with a fraction of my documents.

I am using Word 2010 on Windows 10 and printing with an HP laserjet pro M277 dw multifunction printer.

Thanks in advance!  My current solution is to create a pdf and print the pdf, which comes out right size and magnification as the document appearance on my screeen.

I have run the print troubleshooter many times and I have updated my drivers for my printer.

    It does not help.

    Thanks for your response.

We can see that the page layout is okay. Have you tried printing with other programs and see if the same behavior occurs? Kindly run the printing troubleshooter and let's check if it will scan some errors. Here's how:

    1. Type Troubleshooter in the search box and then press enter.
    2. In the left pane click on View all.
    3. Select the Printeroption and follow the on screen instructions.

We also suggest you to check the updates of your printer. Follow these steps:

    1. Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and select it from the list of results.
    2. Expand one of the categories to find the name of your device, then right-click (or tap and hold) it, and select Update Driver Software.
    3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
    4. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

    Best.

Thanks for your attention to this!!

I have been a word user and software developer for decades, so I am sure I can provide what you are asking for.

Is this what you meant by Print Page Setup?
