Microsoft Access has stopped working

Hi,

I am having trouble using Microsoft Access 2013 or Microsoft Access 2016. I get the following error message.

Microsoft Access has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I used to have Office 2013 and Windows 7. Everything was working fine. Then I upgraded to Windows 10 keeping Office 2013 two weeks ago. Access 2013 worked initially. I then upgraded to Office 365 (Office 2016) for compatibility. My Access programs worked initially. I then downgraded back to Office 2013 as our company still has Office 2013. The Access program worked initially but for the past week I get the error message above.

I have tried all permutations. Uninstalling Office 2013, restarting computer, Installing Office 2016; Doing Online Repair of Office 2016; Restarting computer; Uninstalling Office 2016; Restarting computer; Installing Office 2013; etc. I currently have Office 2016.

I did further analysis and discovered the following:

  • Regular basic MS Access applications run fine
  • MS Access applications with Tables, Forms, VBA code and modules work find
  • MS Access applications with VBA User Forms do not open and give the above error message

Other PC's in our office are working fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Siddharth

    Hello,

Just wanted to follow up if anybody has found a solution.

I am unable to open MS Access Applications that have VBA User Forms. Others in our company are able to open these applications.

I am able to open applications with VBA. Just not applications with User Forms (created through VBA).

I tried decompiling my application (the one with User Forms) but I get the same error message when open using decompile command

Did you try decompiling one of these applications?

The Northwind sample application has some VBA as well. Can you not open it either?
