Sync SharePoint Library for external users

Hello,

I am trying to sync a SharePoint library as an external user but cannot seem to log-in.  My customer has granted me guest access (as an external user) to their SharePoint sub-site.  I have been granted access using my Office 365 account.  When I attempt to sync a library from the browser, OneDrive asks me to sign in with a strange username in the form of "myemail_mydomain.com#ext#@client.com".  OneDrive then says there was a problem connecting and asks me to sign in again.  If I use my Office 365 account it tells me I am already syncing that account.

I am currently using the latest OneDrive preview with the registry key to enable sync of SharePoint libraries.  As an Office 365 tenant owner, I have my own SharePoint libraries which I am able to sync perfectly.  The problem only occurs with external libraries which have been shared with me by another tenant owner.

Appreciate help or reporting if this is a bug.

Hi Gavin,

Yes, what I referenced is the Groove-based OneDrive for Business client. We can install both of the legacy OneDrive for Business client and the latest OneDrive preview on our PC. The latest OneDrive preview build will be the default client to sync SharePoint library and OneDrive for Business library when we click Sync Now butoon from online.

To sync shared sites with the legacy OneDrive for Business version, please right-click on the legacy OneDrive for Business icon > Sync a new library > paste the shared site URL > Sync Now.

Thank you this is helpful.  The legacy client is working to sync my external libraries.  I hope the new OneDrive client integrates this ability as well.

    Hi Gavin,

It is not feasible to sync SharePoint sites shared from external user with the latest OneDrive for Business preview build. We invite you to submit your feedback to Uervoice, this is the best way to perfect our service.

As a workaround, we can sync external shared SharePoint site with the legacy OneDrive for Business client.

    Thanks for your understanding.

Hi, thanks very much for the reply.  I will submit feedback to Uuervoice.

In the meantime, is it possible to install the legacy OneDrive for Business client in parallel with the latest OneDrive preview?  I do not want to disturb anything that is currently working and I know there are multiple builds for the legacy OneDrive(s).  I presume your reference is to the Groove-based OneDrive for Business?
