Folder Content Types New Doc Library

Hi

I amusing the new document library experience. Have setup a Document Center with custom Folder content types. However when I click the new button the custom Folder Content Types do not show up. If I click new from within a Document Set they do show up. But I do not want to use document sets.

Is this an error with the new library or has this custom content type been discontinued in the new library?

    Hi ChrisDSy,

I’d like to collect some information about the folder content type and site:

    1. Capture a screenshot of your custom folder content type settings by navigating to Site content type page > click the Parent section.
    2. Capture a screenshot of the list when you click on New in the problematic folder.

Moreover, before moving to the next stage, I’d like to confirm if the issue can be reproduced in your Document Center by creating a new folder content type using the same step below:

    1. Navigate to your SharePoint site with admin account > click the gear icon > site settings
    2. Click Content type publishing > click the Url in hubs section
    3. Click create > choose the Folder Content Types for “Select parent content type from” and Folder for “Parent Content Type” > OK.
    4. Click on the newly created folder content type > Manage publishing for this content type > choose publish > OK
    5. Navigate to the library which need to custom the document template > click the gear icon > library settings

(If the library hasn’t been enabled “Allow management of content types”, click advanced settings > choose Allow management of content types and click OK)

    1. In Content types section, click Add from existing site content type > add the folder content type > OK.
    2. Back to the library with new experience, click New > check if the content type appears in the list.

    Regards,

    Ryan

This is what my inbox looks like. I think there has been some error in the change from the old community forum to this one. I had a profile in the old office 365 forum, but when I went to login to the new one I had problems and had to create a new profile, now I seem to have 2 nick names chrisSB and ChrisDSy. Not sure if this is the issue or not

    Thanks Felix

Not sure how to send you a private message, I am using the edge browser. When I click Private Message it takes me to my inbox and sent item but cannot see a way to send a message.

    Hi Chris,

The new document library experience is still rolling out. As a workaround, you may try the Classic experience to create a folder with the custom folder content type. To do that: Click the Return to the classic SharePoint on the lower-left corner of the library page.

To investigate the situation, I'd like to collect your tenant information via the Private Message .

    Thanks,

    Felix
