Did a click to run install of O365 on a bunch of our school devices with the following config (snippet)

<Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />

<Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" />

<Property Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN" Value="FALSE" />

<Property Name="SharedComputerLicensing" Value="1" />

<Property Name="PinIconsToTaskbar" Value="TRUE" />

<Updates Channel="Deferred" Enabled="TRUE" />

</Configuration>

After install completes, when I run any of the apps, it forces me to activate every time I open it. I sign in with my school ID, its happy and logs me right in. if I log out, close Office and reopen it - its ask me to activate again every time. Is there something I'm missing with this install? Its an install on a bunch of our school laptops where each user would have their own O365 login/license.

I opted for shared user install for just that reason, multiple people would be using the laptops and each would have their own license.

thanks for any help

    Hi Jamie,

    Thanks for your information.

    Before we involved this issue to related team, could you help us clarify the following information?

    1. Could you see the licensing token folder via this path %localappdata%\microsoft\office\16.0(15.0)\licensing?
    2. What’s the version of the Office installed in the Shared computer?
    3. What’s the OS system of the Shared computer?
    4. Are you using single-sign-on (SSO) accounts?

    Hi Jamie,

    You can end all the Office applications in the Shared computer and navigate to %localappdata%\microsoft\office\16.0\licensing folder, then remove the contents to check the outcome. (If you are using Office 2013, you can replace 16.0 with 15.0)

    If this issue persists, I’d like to collect some additional information for further investigation. To protect the privacy, I have sent you a private message to collect the information. You can access the private message via the link below:

    hi there, i do have shared computer activation installed properly. when i close the program without logging out, and re-open, it is fine.

    so i am wondering then...will every new student who logs onto a workstation and opens office always see the error indicating the license installed cannot be verified? (see attached screenshot of error)

    after a student is done using office on any particular workstation, they will always be logging out so another user can use the device. if this error comes up for every new user, it will become cumbersome and will require each user to effectively log in twice and have to ok the error. ![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=e9fa74b9-d060-4925-a8b6-44a80bd8261e)

    Hi Jamie,

    From your description, I notice you are using Shared Computer activation for Office 365 ProPlus. As the following article mentions, after the Shared Computer activation is enabled, each login user will be assigned with a licensing token which will lasts only a few days. It’s not a permanent activation for a specific user, the licensing token renewal steps are repeated for each user who logs on to the shared computer.

    How to setup Shared Computer Activation step by step for your education environment

    If that’s not the truth, could you help us clarify the following information?

    1. Do any other user encounter the same scenario?
    2. If you sign in with your school ID, just close the office and not log out, will this issue happen?
    3. To make sure the Shared Computer is installed successfully, you can refer to the articles above for confirmation.

    Thanks,

    Kerwin
