Hi all,

We have now installed latest version of Word 2016 through our Office365 ProPlus subscription, but we are still missing the "Insert Icons" fuctionality.

Can someone help explaining what the problem might be?

  1. We are on the latest build (1703)
  2. We have checked the "ribbon settings" - and can't find the "Insert icons" in the ribbon setup.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards

Morten

As the article at:

https://support.office.com/en-ie/article/Insert-icons-e2459f17-3996-4795-996e-b9a13486fa79?ui=en-US&rs=en-IE&ad=IE&fromAR=1

says: "This feature is only available if you have an Office 365 subscription."

Microsoft Office Professional Plus Click-to-Run versions of Office are NOT part of an Office 365 subscription.

Which specific release of Office 2016 are you running? Look at File | Account (you may also want to click the About Word button for details).

Thanks. Now, looking at the Insert tab on my installation of Office 365 Professional Plus, I do see a new command called Icons in the Illustrations group on the Insert tab:

Usually, you have to be an Insider to see the most recent additions in Office. Could you perhaps link to information from Microsoft on the function you are referring to?

    Hi Morten,

To clarify the situation, could you do the following steps?

1.Make sure that you have checked “ribbon settings” as below:

         a. Click File>Opitions>Customize Ribbon.

         b. Find the Choose commands from column and select All Commands.

         c. Check whether there is the Insert Icons function.

    1. Click Reset all customization to check whether it works.

    1. Provide a screenshot of the insert ribbon as the following picture shows:

    1. About the build, is that 1703(7967.2139)? You can check it in File>Account.
    2. Check whether you have signed in with the Office 365 account.

    Regards,

    Kimi
