Hi Everyone,

  1. I am trying to update a few Windows Server 2019 standard instances to ensure that KB5004947 is installed via windows update. However using the windows update method , the server eventually states that windows is up to date, but further checking via cmd > system info, confirms that the KB is not installed.
  2. Another alternative I have tried is to install KB5004947 as a standalone patch including the prerequisite patches downloaded via https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com, however when it comes to installing KB5004947 itself, the windows system pops up an error stating that the patch is not applicable to the Windows System.

    -windows10.0-kb5003711-x64_577dc9cfe2e84d23b193aae2678b12e777fc7e55
  3. In another scenario, some of the Windows Server 2019 standard were able to obtain the KB5004947 patch via windows update.

All Windows Server 2019 standard have internet connection hence grabbing the updates should not be an issue.
There is no AV that could potentially be blocking the update.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

    @Elisha
    Hi,
    This update KB5004947 has been replaced by the following updates:
    2021-07 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 for x64-based Systems (KB5004244)
    2021-07 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 for x64-based Systems (KB5005394)
    2021-07 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows Server 2019 for x64-based Systems (KB5004308)

    If you have already installed the above updates, you do not need to install KB5004947

    Hope above information can help you.

    I'd check the current build number (winver). KB5004947 = (OS Build 17763.2029)
    If a later build such as KB5005394 (OS Build 17763.2091) has been installed then you already have it since updates are cumulative and contain current fixes plus the previous fixes built in.
