TimeLine Slicer - date range

I am having an issue with the date range of the Slicer. My date range in my spreadsheet is between 2009 and 2017, but when I insert the Timeline the date range on the slicer is between 1900 & 2311. is there a way to limit the range in the slicer? if not,  I'm guessing there must be some bogus data hiding somewhere that's not visible, is there a way to find it and clear it?

Thank you for your response, It appears the problem I was having had to do with the format of the Header of the date column. even though the date field was formatted correctly , the header and cells above were formatted as "GENERAL" once I formatted the entire column to "DATE"

The date range in the Slicer was corrected.

Thanks again

    Hi BobC7656,

Can you verify if you did the same steps as below?

    1. On your data, go to Insert > then PivotTable.
    2. PivotTable will be created, then select all your required fields.
    3. On the PivotTable, go to Analyze > Insert Timeline.
    4. Timeline will be created, as this depends on the format of the field in your data.

You may try selecting your data, and see if there are invalid date ranges. Also, provide the current version of your Office. Go to File > Account, then get a screenshot of the accounts page for us to verify your version.

    Thanks,

    Mike
