Refresh Data in Word Chart from Excel

Hello,

I've created a number of charts in Excel.  In order to distribute them in a more aesthetically-pleasing manner, I've copied and pasted them into a Word document.  The excel data is updated every month, and I want the copied charts in the Word document to reflect those updates.

When I click on "Refresh Data" in the Chart Tools Design tab in the Word document, all data in the chart (i.e., bars) is removed...leaving an empty chart.

How do I get the copied charts in my Word document to correctly reflect/update the changes I've made in the linked Excel document?

I've gone back and tried using the "Paste Special" option (paste link to be exact) when pasting the copied charts into the Word document, but that hasn't fixed the issue.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark
