I am receiving notification in the O365 groups stating that the deleted items is full and getting NDR when we send an email to the group.

Your mailbox folder "\Deleted items" is approaching a quota limiting the number of messages per folder. It contains 941882 messages.

Please reduce the number of messages in this folder by deleteing items or moving items in this folder to a diffrent folder.

NDR says:

Can anyone let me know how I can empty the deleted items?

Strange as I am not able to find the folder hierarchy for the groups.

Hi Apshd,

The emails in an Office group can be deleted one by one. It is a huge project to delete a large number of emails in the group, and the group has more than 940000 emails. So I suggest you create a new group.

About this feature, you can submit feedback via the link below. Many features came directly from your feedback.

Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,

Hans

    Hi Hans,

    Thank you for your reply.

I get that the error states so, but the mailbox in picture is not the actual mailbox. Its a unified group.

    https://blogs.office.com/2014/09/25/delivering-first-chapter-groups-office-365/

Which doesn't show any folder hierarchy either in OWA or in Outlook.

Thus I cannot set any retention policy or empty the deleted items manually using OWA or PS.

    Waiting to hear from you.

    Regards.

    Hi apshd,

This message means that the emails in your mailbox’s delete item folder is close to the maximum limit (1 million) of the number of mails.

You may right click the “Delete Items”, then choose “Empty Folder” to delete all the emails.

Or you may let the Exchange administrators to create a retention policies for you to automatically clean up emails regularly in “Delete Items” folder.

And you can restore the emails which are removed from Delete Items in Purge folder within 14 days. Click the button ‘Recover Deleted Items from Server’.

Or you can let the Exchange administrators to set In-Place Hold or Litigation Hold for you, to restore the deleted emails.

If you got any problem, please post back.

    Regards,

    Hans
