Footnotes and Cross-Reference

Hello guys!

Alright, I know by now how to use multiple references to the same footnote using "cross-reference". That was great actually!

But, I'm facing now two problems (or one actually!).

Now, all that works fine if the numbering is continuous. But, if I chose it to be restarted each page; it won't work; for it shows me (in the cross-reference popup) the footnotes in the whole doc all numbered continuously, and that's not what I desire, which is to get the numbering restarted each page.

That results in the second issue, which is that if the new item created by cross-reference moved for some reason to another page, it moves with the same number it took on the previous page, and that creates problems and confusion as you may imagine.

So, any ideas?

And thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Usually, footnotes appear at the bottom of the page and endnotes come at the end of the document or section. You can use footnotes and endnotes in documents to explain, comment on, or provide references to something mentioned in a document. This article will give you more information about footnotes.

Do let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Regards.

As you edit a document, cross-references to footnotes must be updated, just like other types of cross-references. The quickest way to update all cross-references in a document is to switch to print preview and then go back to Print Layout view. You can use File | Print followed by pressing the ESC key.
