keyboard problem typing wrong characters - Windows 10, Microsoft office Word

Using a Dell PC with a Logitech K120 keyboard, Windows 10, and Microsoft Office Word, all set to UK (English), a single press of the letter 'a', followed by a 'space' results in the letter changing into a symbol resembling a 'tilde'.

How can I rectify?

Many thanks.

Click File | Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options. In the dialog box, look for an AutoCorrect entry that converts "a" into something else. Select and delete that entry. Click OK twice.

    Stefan,

It seems to only happen with the letter 'a'.

If I look at the Undo dropdown, immediately after the change, I DO see 'AutoCorrect' listed there. And interestingly if I press the Undo button immediately after the change, it reverts to the correct letter 'a'.

    What now?

Does this happen with the letter "a," specifically? If you look at the Undo drop down, immediately after the change, do you see "AutoCorrect" listed there?
