OneNote attachments read only on Android client

I have the latest version of OneNote client for Android on My Asus Zenpad 8, running Android 5.0. OneNote syncs correctly, however when I open a note attachment on the Android client the attachment is read only and I can not make changes.

If I open the attachment on my desktop OneNote or on the web version I am able to make changes.

    Hi,

No I didn't get a fix. I guess it's a limitation of the Android version of OneNote - maybe it will be included in an future version?

Hi, did you fix the problem?

I'm also the one looking forward to editting the onenote-imbedded excel files on my Android tab.

Seeking for the solution for all day but couldn't find even a tiny clue regarding that.

It would be much helpful if you share any helpful point.

Just a guess. You don't happen to have an Office 365 subscription? As far as I know without that the Office Apps on Android just let you access Word and Excel files read only.

This limitation does not apply to the browser versions of Word and Excel (Office Online), just to the mobile apps.

You can always confirm that by trying to edit an Office document which you loaded from OneDrive with the Word app on Android directly. If I am right this is not a OneNote problem.

    1. I've never been able to edit embedded attachments on Android, I can edit attachments on the fat and web client versions.
    2. No error messages, it just says "Read only" in the title bar of the Android app used to open the attachment (Excel or Word).

I'm tying to edit attachments whilst on my mobile device in meetings.

    Kind regards,

    Matt
