E1 Full Mailbox

Hi,

I'm administering our email using o365 and some of my user are exceeding their email limit capacity.

What i'm working right now is to backup their email via convert to pst -- later i'll advice them to delete old email which is converted to pst. The PST file will be loaded to their local outlook (desktop) as serve as for their reference only.

The hard part is to the remote user/ or to other branch-- my dilemma was to save the PST to external storage and send to the user.

Please guys if you have other workaround ....please share with me.

Note: Our 365 is AD integrated, (thats why im not using to convert mailbox to shared mailbox)

Thank you.

    Hi Christian,

What do you mean by saying "I set up their email to IMAP"?  Could you please more information about it?

    Thanks,

    Mouran

    Hi Christian,

    Thanks for your quick response.

Yes, you are right. Since your remote users are only using E1 plan, they are not able to use the Outlook 2013 client to back up their emails themselves.

Are you the admin of the remote users? If yes,  you can refer to the following suggestions to back up emails for remote users

    1. Assign the Full Access permission of the remote user’s mailbox to yourself.

    2. After that, the mailbox  will show up on the left side of your Outlook client automatically.

    3. Finally, back up the emails for the remote user by referring to the article in my last post.

If you encounter any other problems when backing up the emails, please feel free to contact us.

    Best regards,

    Mouran

    Hi Mouran,

Yes, your right about the "dilemma thing..lol"

Backing-up and save > send to remote user > ill doin' that most of the time.

For your reference, my remote users are only using E1 (i believed E1 does not have outlook 2013 for desktop). Only managers and admin are using the E3 account for o365.

Any other idea? this is giving me an headache every time i've received an request for email back-up due to exceed limit.

    Thank you so much!

    Hi Christian,

What do you mean by saying “my dilemma was to save the PST to external storage and send to the user”? Do you want to back up the email for the remote user yourself and save the PST to external storage and send to him?

If so, I’d like to know if the remote user has installed the Outlook client (e.g. Outlook 2013, Outlook 2016). If yes, there is no need for you to back up the emails for the user yourself. You can ask the remote user to do this himself by referring to the below article:

    support.office.com/.../Export-or-backup-email-contacts-and-calendar-to-an-Outlook-pst-file-14252b52-3075-4e9b-be4e-ff9ef1068f91

If anything is misunderstood, please feel free to contact us. We are glad to help you further.

    Best regards,

    Mouran
