Corrupted hyperlinks in Excel

I have a large spreadsheet with hundreds of hyperlinks to other locations on my hard drive.  I specified all the file paths relative the spreadsheet file.  Suddenly, none of the links work, because Excel has prefixed all the addresses with the *AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel* folder name.  How did that happen ?  More importantly, how can I automatically remove all those prefixes, so the links will work again ?  (I'm not going to move all the referenced files to Roaming folder.)  It would take hours to correct them by hand.

    Hello,

how have the hyperlinks been constructed? Using "Insert > Hyperlink" or with the Hyperlink function?

With the function, you can do a Find and Replace of the unwanted path with the correct path.

With the Insert > Hyperlink, you can edit the file properties and set the Hyperlink Base to the desired folder.
