Repeating Section Content Controls

App: Word 2016 via Office 360; Forms using the Repeating Section Content Controls (RSCC)

The RSCC is a great idea but the + button that is supposed to allow users to add the next section is many times hidden by the controls it encloses.

This makes its operation very unpredictable and irritates users.

Unpredictable is not good when you are trying to encourage people to use the new form.

Originally I had the Calendar Control in the far right column but its control button always covered the RSCC control button. So I moved it.

Now I get the RSCC + button on the upper rows but not the last row. I can only assume for the same reason. See attached images.

If someone can tell me how to fix this that would be great. Otherwise, the + button should be on the left side or both sides of the control. This would provide a more predictable and less irritating operation.

I'll start by saying that I don't see the behavior you see. I reproduced your table, and the repeating section plus sign is visible on every row, including the last one, no matter how many rows I add. I'm using Version 1609 Build 7369.2055 (First Release for Deferred Channel). I also see the same thing in Version 1611 Build 7571.2042 (First Release for Current Channel). If your Office isn't up to either of those builds, make sure you have all current updates.

As a workaround, you could add a narrow empty column to the right of the Assigned column and turn off its borders. Then you should see something like this:

I'm glad that the workaround is useful for you.

At some point in the future, your build of Office should update from 6965 to 7369 or later, and I believe you'll find that the issue has been fixed there.

    Jay,

    Thank you for the help.

My MS Word via MS Office 365 ProPlus is:

    Deferred Channel

    Version is 16.0.6965.2105.

Updates are automatically downloaded and installed.

I checked my table again and the + still didn't show up in the last row on my table. I added the column as you suggested and the + now shows up. I can release my form this way.
