Set pivot table data source permanent

Hi,

I have several pivot tables in a big Excel sheet (I may not share it). Everything works fine, until I change the name of the document.

The pivot tables then change their data source to the previous Excel file name.

How can I make sure this doesn't happen? So when I change the name of the file, the pivot tables just work as before and not referring to the older file?

Thanks!

It is good that your problem got resolved.

But, without any knowledge gain !   We could not know/learn the reason behind the problem.

Anyways, for now the problem is solved. Have a great day.

I reconnected the tables with their source and it seem to works. That is the best solution for now I think.

    Oh!!

Normally such a thing does not happen.

Without having a thorough study of your file, it will be difficult to suggest anything and you cannot share your file.

If the Pivot Table is created in the same SourceData xlsx file then, just renaming the Excel file should not disturb the Pivot Table.

Are you missing some info which is not yet shared here ?
