Cannot Insert Content Control

Split from this thread.

Pleased to read this, I just upgraded to 15.28.

Unfortunately, my findings:

  • no user interface ability to add a content control (nothing on the Developer menu; no commands in the All Commands dialog)
  • macros which insert a rich text content control fail

I haven't tested whether existing content controls are respected.  That much might be OK.

Any further info on planned content control support on the Mac would be appreciated.  Maybe there is something more on the insider track?

thanks .. Jason

While Word 2016 for Mac now honors most content controls, it cannot create them. There hasn't been any announcement from Microsoft as to when this feature might be added.

To suggest that this be added to Word for Mac, please visit the Word User Voice forum and post your idea. Others can vote on it and Microsoft uses this input to determine what to program next.

Your messages haven't been deleted, I've moved them to the Word for Mac forum. You had posted in Word for Windows. The best idea is to start a new thread when you have a new issue.

As I replied earlier, Content Controls currently must be created in a Windows version of Word. Mac will be able to use most of them.

Discussion of this should really be pursued in the Word for Mac forum.
