Finding Recovered Files

Thinking it was just the one file, I accidentally clicked on "No, remove the files. I have saved the files I need- Select this option if you are sure you don't need the data in the recovered versions of the files."

But I wanted to keep the other files. How do I get them back?

A shame .. but at least you know you gave it your best shot and finding them.

Thank you!  Unfortunately, I think they disappeared entirely.

You might try using a utility program that lets you search the hard drive by file date and look for files created a bit before you clicked the fateful "No" button.

This article explains how to use some of the advanced features of Windows search that might help:

Hello, and thanks!  They aren't there.  My guess is that the cache that was holding the tmp files was wiped out when I clicked the 'no' option. They aren't under the 'recent' folder or in the folder that links to 'recover unsaved files' from this trail of breadcrumbs:  file-->open-->recent (scroll to the bottom).

We're sort of getting the final scene of what appears to be a longer movie here, but set that aside for now.

Try opening the Recycle Bin to see if your files are there.
