Can't resize Excel spreadsheet

I just installed Office 365 on my MacBook Pro and opened a spreadsheet. Everything seems to work fine except that I can't make the window any larger than about 1/6 of the screen. I can't move it around on my desktop, the green resize button is missing and the resize arrows don't work. I opened the same sheet in Libre Office just fine and it opened without a hitch on my Surface Pro as well...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like Protect Workbook - Protect Windows is enabled. Have a look at the Review tab to see if the button is pressed in or go to Tools> Protection in the menu to see if Unprotect Workbook is listed.

    Hi StepThru,

I removed Fixy's nonsense answer because it included a recommendation to reinstall Office. While it may come to that, there's no guarantee taking such an extreme measure will even fix the problem you described,

Before making any recommendations, it would help to know exactly what version and build of Excel you are using. Please go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel, and then reply with the version and build number you have.

    Thanks.

I appreciate the reply but I'm not a new Mac user... It's just a new computer. I've used the same spreadsheet on other Macs without a problem and in fact this spreadsheet opens just fine on my Surface Pro 3 using Office 365 and also opens in the Apple spreadsheet app Numbers as well as in Libre Office. It just won't respond when using Office 365 on my Mac.

I forgot to add that if I enter full screen mode I get my miniature spreadsheet stuck in the middle of the desktop. As it sits now it's in the upper left corner of the screen.
