Power Map date/ time

Hello,

I am using the Power Map preview for Office 2013. I am unable to move my date data to the Time field in Power Map ( I get a "no" symbol when I try to drag and drop the field). This data is written as Apr 2013. I have it formatted as Date (I have tried a variety of format options with no success).  Can any one tell me how to make this work?

Thank you very much

Hi,

That is not the reason.  The date can have a leading 0.  The reason for it not working is that the dates are stored as text entries.  On running the Data > Text to columns command, the text dates convert to actual dates.

I figured it out. A date such as 01/15/2015 cannot have the leading zero. It has to be 1/15/2015. I changed this using Data>Text to Columns>Next>Next>Date: DMY
